After careful thought I have decided to come out--as someone with naturally curly hair. I feel the time is right for this announcement as curls have been everywhere lately. Karlie Kloss looked great with her curls at Diane von Furstenberg, while Mica Arganaraz always looks cool and current. I think the stigma of curls is disappearing (for a while anyway). It's hard to forget the image of Linda Cardellini's terrible perm in Legally Blionde. Striaght hair has always seemed much more chic. As a kid I remember having this head of frizz, and my aunt showed me the magic of blowing my hair straight. This began a lifelong routine of straightening. In the old days it could take over an hour. I would section off my hair and then blow dry one section at a time. If I made a section too big, forget it. It would never be perfectly straight. Once flat irons came along, this was a much simpler process. Fifiteen minutes at most and done. Okay, so I will probably go stright most of the time, but I will go curly more than I have in years past. It's freeing to be able to just let my hair air dry. Unfortunately, after a few days of going natural I usually can't stand it anymore, but thats okay. I always have my flat iron in reserve.
